| Without a doubt, this is the finest guitar I have built to date. Everything worked out right on this one. The neck angle is perfect so the strings float perfectly and almost paralell . The action is very low yet there is no buzzing, no pickup dampening, it is just super easy to play and the sound from the Lindy Fralin Unbuckers is incredible. If you have access to a Line 6 Pod x3 or Pod Xt or Vetta II (x3 is best right now or the Pod HD) then you can litterally play both guitar systems at the same time. I have written a Bass patch using a Les Paul patch lowered an octave. Setting the Variax to that, and sending that signal to my bass rig (use SUB DUB or ADVISORY) in the Pod X3 and your bass will sound like a good P bass or even a Thumb. Set the magnetic pups to a nice tube overdrive and patch the signal to your guitar rig. Now start playing a lick using your favorite scale. use 18th notes and quarter notes for clarity. It will sound like you and your bass player pratice 25 hours a day. (If Barach can have 57 states than I can have 25 hours) lol. MORE BUY IT NOW

| Customized Line 6 Variax 700 Bass |
|
| Well, I purchased these to build custom bodies for them. Seems I have not had the time so I thought I would strip mine, (terrible job removing Chinese polyester) It takes me between 4 and 6 hours to strip and sand and prep these bodies for finish. Maybe it would be cheaper to make a new one. At any rate, I don't have the objection to the bass bodies like I do for the guitar bodies. although neither are bad to me. With some TLC all Variax guitars can be made to look and play great. I should know I have been working with these now for 8 years. I am hoping someone would be interested in trading their 700 in for this. With both the body work and the neck work which included a new black walnut truss rod plug, new Graph Tech nut, frets leveled, Option, change fret marker dots to MOP or abalone, reshape the headstock , (I don't like that pointy thing), install a Fender Micro adjustment in neck pocket, new Lacquer finish, tint optional. You can really see the neck grain when the heavy filler is removed. New strings are optional. BTW, I installed a new set of heavy bass strings on one of these and the tracking really improved which means the tone improves. Keep that in mind.
