 Without a doubt, this is the finest guitar I have built to date. Everything worked out right on this one. The neck angle is perfect so the strings float perfectly and almost paralell . The action is very low yet there is no buzzing, no pickup dampening, it is just super easy to play and the sound from the Lindy Fralin Unbuckers is incredible.
If you have access to a Line 6 Pod x3 or Pod Xt or Vetta II (x3 is best right now or the Pod HD) then you can litterally play both guitar systems at the same time. I have written a Bass patch using a Les Paul patch lowered an octave. Setting the Variax to that, and sending that signal to my bass rig (use SUB DUB or ADVISORY) in the Pod X3 and your bass will sound like a good P bass or even a Thumb. Set the magnetic pups to a nice tube overdrive and patch the signal to your guitar rig. Now start playing a lick using your favorite scale. use 18th notes and quarter notes for clarity.    This is one of the last guitars of this body style I will be putting up for sale. I can be talked into making a custom one . I have only this one and 4 others. Then I will be using a different style of a double cut. Something between this and a Gibson DC. But definatly my own style. So if you want a Variax like this now is the time to buy!

                                 I Love this guitar, BUT everything is for sale these days so my favorite personal guitar goes as well. I won't say much on this except it is in better shape than when I bought it new. I re-wetsanded the body and re-buffed. Even PRS- if they don't allow the finish enough time to breath out before you buff it there will be shrinkage. And with a quilted top this will show waves. I can say this guitar is perfect now. All factory except for the saddles which I will gladly include should upi wamt to put it back to factory. I can include the volume pot as well if you want to take the tuner out. I must say I really like the tuner. It is veryn accurate. All it can't do is give you alternate tunings. Everything is in perfect condition. No dents or scratches. It's perfect!  Comes with original case with the original UPC sticker identifying this guitar. This was the first natural quilt top PRS I have seen and I fell in love with it. That's why I made a copy. 

                

Specifications:

 Quilted maple top. Not a veneer but bookmatched from a full 2 inch thick piece of 5A Maple.

  PRS 5 way rotary switch. 

                             

 Pickup rings are Cocobolo with the bridge pickup having to be slightly higher because of the slight neck tilt back having a piece of maple in between.

The purchaser can ask to have the rings switched to plastic creme if you like.

Neck is a 22 fret, Wide Fat 12 inch radious         

medium - medium High-wide frets. 

Nut is like a Black Trem Nut. It is a composit material.  

Fretboard is Brazillian Rosewood!

Other: Pots are CTS. Body is double shielded with conductive paint and copper.

Marks Custom guitars is a small mom and pop business. There are a lot of "guitar makers" out there so my attitude is not volume but rather quality. I build each guitar as if I were going to keep it myself.

I look at each guitar as if it were mine to keep. This way you know that if you are purchasing a guitar from me, it's not something I threw together but each guitar is thought about and planned from the selecting of woods to the color . To pick up selection and switching.
